International Association Cities and Ports (IACP)

The International Association Cities and Ports (IACP) is an international network of cities and ports already counting now 190 active members from all the continents of the world. The urban and port managers, who meet together during the exchanges of experience regularly organised by the IACP, are able to find the information and the contacts necessary for the drawing up of decisions for “good management” for each port city. In providing a forum for the actors of numerous urban and port projects that contribute to the competitiveness of each port city, IACP is a privileged witness to the developments under way in the cities and ports all over the world.

IACP is:
- 190 members including Rotterdam, Marseilles, Barcelona, Montreal, Buenos Aires, Abidjan, Cape Town, Sydney…
- 35 countries represented;
- 500 participants attending its international conferences;
- recognition from international bodies;
- a specialised documentary department;
- a spread of expertise through an international network of experts.

The Port of Stockholm

The Port of Stockholm is the largest port on the east coast of Sweden. Ferry services to and from Stockholm play a major role in trade between Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Interest in tourism and trade with former Eastern Bloc countries has grown enormously since the collapse of the Soviet Union. In 2007, the port transported 8.9 million tonnes of goods, and almost 11,3 million passengers travelled on ferries.
Stockholm is also a popular cruise destination. Feeder services for containers to and from ports on the continent provide an efficient link between the Port of Stockholm and the rest of the world. The Port of Stockholm, with its wholly-owned outports at Kapellskär, 90 km north of Stockholm and Nynäshamn, 60 km south, offers a natural and environmentally-friendly gateway to the city. The Ports of Stockholm Group is wholly owned by the City of Stockholm.
